Astrology
Mars is the Domicile Lord, the Sun is the Exalted Lord. Mercury is the bound lord through this Quinance. The Sun is the Decan ruler. 15° - 17° 29” is the 12th Part of Libra, ruled by Venus. 17° 30” to 19° 59” is the 12th Part of Scorpio, ruled by Mars.
My Thoughts
The Solar Eclipse is upon us, here in the UK at 19° 24” of Aries on the 8th of April at 19.17, so though we will not be able to witness the hidden, concealed Sun as the Moon passes over the face of our star, the time stamp connects closely to the degree stamp.
Also notable is the 12th Part the Eclipse falls in is Scorpio, giving Mars added dignity. It seems fitting that Mars is still in control of this Eclipse, unseen in an aversion in the sign of Pisces, but very much the lord of Aries and Scorpio.
When the Sun is temporarily dimmed during an eclipse, I feel that we get a peak behind the curtain at the workings of the cosmos. Those brightest stars and comets) that are not available to us during the light of the day, are suddenly revealed.
I wonder whether, for a short while, the Scorpio area of our chart reveals some information that would otherwise be concealed. If like me, Scorpio is in a less fortunate place, (12th House) this could be a rare opportunity to rummage through the detritus and clear out some of the excess baggage.
The psalm starts with a plea to assist in times of physical and spiritual turmoil. Eclipse season certainly generates intense feelings and concerns, sometimes completely unfounded, but for some, the fear and anxiety are justified.
At the end of the psalm, the request for spiritual ease and release from one’s enemies is the theme. My belief as with a lot of this material is, that the work comes from within. If we can consciously work toward converting thought and behavioural patterns, bonds can be broken without anything without us having changed. Once we can harness that energy, we can work on outside goals.
Most of our inner demons are hidden from us. While others may be able to point them out to us, that is not always helpful, we need to make those discoveries ourselves. At the time of an Eclipse, we can access some of this inner material without the spotlight shining so brightly on us.
Happy Eclipse Season!
The Three of Wands - Virtue (The same as our previous Quinance)
The Three of Wands Crowley named Virtue. The Rider Waite has a person looking out in front of them, two staves creating a gateway and one behind, the Ace, as the driving force of the suit is the catalyst for the journey ahead. The two, Dominion, is the spark of the idea and the ignition.
By the time we get to the three, our person is preparing for their day, viewing the sea ahead in a sunrise-coloured sky. The beginning of a venture is always an exciting time, all the possibilities are still young and fresh; with nothing to tarnish the dream.
There is a feeling of movement with the boats in the bay, and this person certainly seems dressed for a voyage.
Our best intention to make this bold move is in front of us. Our goals and aspirations help us to move forward.
Two times three brings us to the Six of Wands, Success, if we are pure of heart then success benefits many, if we become jaded and look to dominate others our success is a selfish one.
On a very concrete level, it's probably not a coincidence that I was looking for a missing cat using horary ;) Thanks to Elemiah, the cat is back!
