Astrology
Mars is the Domicile Lord, the Sun is the Exalted Lord, Venus is the Bound Lord up to 11° 59” and then changes to Mercury. The Sun is the Decan ruler. The Sun is the 12th part ruler of 10° - 12° 29” and Mercury for 12° 30” to 14° 59”.
My Thoughts
As we reach the decan ruled by the Sun, the energy of Mars combined with the bright rays of our home star fills us with hope for a future full of possibility. It makes us hungry for the journey ahead, and can set a restless feeling in our soul, we want to get going!
If we are pure of heart and hold good intentions at the beginning of a quest, then there is a feeling of exhilaration and excitement.
Through this quinance, we have first a combination of Mars, Sun and Venus up to 11° 59”. The journey could be for the sake of an idealistic love, art, beauty or fame. Once we move to 12° we could look to mercantile business, news or gossip.
The psalm speaks to the dangers on the road, certainly back when attacks by wild animals both real and mythical, the “asp & the basilisk”, travelling along, deserted, rural roads could be a dangerous business. But attacks do not always come from an outsider, our fear can hold us back from beginning a project.
Robbers, marauding armies, and even harsh words are also listed in this psalm. The pen is mightier than the sword.
When out and about looking to fulfil your day’s chores, it is unlikely you will be slaying literal dragons, however, we all have our personal beasts to slay. This Angel can help to recognise that the refuge that is being offered is the calm and peace we can feel within if we choose to stop, and just check ourselves in times of frustration, fear or anger.
The Three of Wands - Virtue
The Three of Wands Crowley named Virtue. The Rider Waite has a person looking out in front of them, two staves creating a gateway and one behind, the Ace, as the driving force of the suit is the catalyst for the journey ahead. The two, Dominion, is the spark of the idea and the ignition.
By the time we get to the three, our person is preparing for their day, viewing the sea ahead in a sunrise-coloured sky. The beginning of a venture is always an exciting time, all the possibilities are still young and fresh; with nothing to tarnish the dream.
There is a feeling of movement with the boats in the bay, and this person certainly seems dressed for a voyage.
Our best intention to make this bold move is in front of us. Our goals and aspirations help us to move forward.
Two times three brings us to the Six of Wands, Success, if we are pure of heart then success benefits many, if we become jaded and look to dominate others our success is a selfish one.
